How to order
The Contrelle Activgard Sizing Kit and 30-pack
(available in size 1,2 & 3) are NHS-approved and
listed on the national Drug Tariff. Both can be
prescribed on FP10 by general practitioners and all
qualified healthcare professional prescribers.
Pharmacists can order prescription stock through
Alliance /NWOS, Sangers Surgical Northern Ireland,
Wardles (all main line stock items) also Lexon or
Quantum.
The 5-pack (sizes 1,2 & 3) is available for retail
pharmacy sale, but cannot be prescribed on the
NHS.
Also available on prescription in many areas
Product usage
Contrelle is available in three sizes to support optimal fit, comfort, and clinical performance.
Size selection should be based on individual vaginal anatomy (dimensions and shape), alongside the
amount of urethral support required. It is important to note that vaginal dimensions do not correlate
with physical size or BMI, and the severity of leakage does not correlate with pelvic floor strength
or other bladder and urethral factors.
Patients should first obtain the Contrelle Sizing Kit (which is available on prescription, direct from us or on Superdrug.com). This includes one device in each size. Advise patients to begin with Size 1 and follow the instructions for use. Starting with a larger size is not recommended, as increased size does not mean improved efficacy.
Recommend that your patient has a water-based lubricant available, to help ease insertion and removal.
It is worth highlighting that prior to insertion, the device must be fully saturated in accordance with the instructions for use, which optimises support, ensures no absorptive effect on vagina mucosa and no alteration to vagina pH or flora.
Once the optimum size has been established, 30-packs containing that size can be prescribed. If the patient prefers, 5-packs and 30-packs can be bought direct from our site or Superdrug.com.
